Dare I say it????

I really don't want to jinx it, but after seven consecutive days of a not-so-fussy Whitt, I think his colic days just might be coming to an end. He'll be three months old this week and it has been a lonnnng three months with a verrrry fussy baby, but we've seen a big change in his demeanor over the past several days. He's been staying awake for longer periods of time and just hanging out and smiling at everybody instead of screaming like he normally did. Yes!!!!!

In other Whitt-related news, he has been losing his hair and it looks like blonde fuzz is growing in underneath. Grayson's dark hair did the same thing so we're pretty much expecting Whitt's to grow back in blonde as well, especially since he looks and acts just like Grayson did as a baby. He's up to 14 lb and has rolled from belly to back a couple of times but nothing consistent just yet. He's not on any kind of a schedule yet...just eating when he is hungry and sleeping when he's tired, and that works for us. He slept through the night for the first time a few nights ago (9:45 to 5:00) but hasn't done it again since. He loves his big brother and sister and has started to giggle a little bit. He drools like crazy and just learned how to put his hand in his mouth. Have I mentioned that I adore this child??? :)

Alright, I'm heading to bed and hoping that Mr. Whitt decides to sleep all night again tonight!!

Sunday Funday!

These were taken last Sunday at a local produce stand with some of our friends. We love having children so close in age--it makes fun outings like this even more fun (and crazy!). :)

Soccer mom

Tyler and Emma Claire watching the game
Coach Uncle Brad carried Grayson for a little while after he took a tumble during the game....
Just happened to catch that tumble on camera :)

I now have the title of Soccer Mom. HA!!! :) Just kidding, but Grayson has joined a soccer league and has been having a blast. They have a practice one afternoon a week and a game every Saturday morning, and he's absolutely loves it. His team consists of three 4 year olds and three 5 year olds and it's pretty funny to watch them ALL chase the ball all over the field at the same time. :) These pictures were taken at his first game where he spent a good bit of the game in tears (oh, the drama of being 4!) but he's actually gotten a good bit better since then. At practice last week he (almost) scored a goal and didn't shed a single tear! :)

Love...

Just look at this little chunk of LOVE!!! Is he not the sweetest little thing??? Whitt is eleven weeks old already.....seriously, the time is just shooting by. He was 12 lb 3 oz at his two month appointment a couple of weeks ago (he was 6 lb 2 oz the day we left the hospital), which means that he gained over SIX POUNDS in just nine short weeks. He nurses all day and night long (still no schedule), so it makes sense, but I've never had a baby who gained so much so quickly so this is still pretty surprising to me. He is such a serious little baby--his smiles are few and far between, but when he does smile it's with his whole face. TOO CUTE! I'm still working on catching one of these elusive smiles on camera----hopefully the next time I post I'll have one to share!

Happy birthday, Grayson!

My precious first born child is now a FOUR YEAR OLD! I can hardly believe it. The past four years have been the best (and hardest) of my life, and I am so, so proud of my sweet boy. This past year has been a big one for him---he stopped using his paci, became potty trained both during the day and at night, moved to the primary class at school, graduated from occupational therapy, learned almost all of his letters and letter sounds, and became such a big boy!

We had a little party with a HUGE water slide this past weekend to celebrate Grayson's birthday. It was a total last-minute party (I've been just a bit preoccupied with our fussy new baby to plan anything in advance) that included a verbal invitation to a handful of Grayson's friends, last minute calls to the water slide rental place, grocery store (for the cake) and party store (balloons--this boy adores balloons!), and a very excited little boy. Everything went over well except for the water slide. I tried to rent the one we used in June for Emma Claire's party, but since it was such a last minute idea, the smaller slide had already been rented. I should have been clued in when the lady said "it depends on the four-year-old" when I asked if the slide was appropriate for four-year-olds, but I figured eighteen feet high wouldn't be that bad. Uh, not such a good idea. I won't even tell you how much we spent to rent this thing for two hours, but it definitely didn't go over well. Grayson and Emma Claire excitedly climbed to the top as soon as the pool had filled up with water, only to sit there and SCREAM and CRY hysterically to get down. :) Luckily, Tyler and Sanders, brave girls that they are, loved the slide and used it enough that it wasn't a total bust. Live and learn, live and learn!!! :) Anyway, even if the slide wasn't the hit I had hoped it would be, the party was fun and Grayson had a blast. On top of this party and the celebration of life ceremony at school, we celebrated again two days later on his actual birthday so he has had his fill of cake and candles to last him until next August. Whew!!!

screaming at the top of the slide...

this was adorable--Vann brought some frogs to the party and I caught a picture of him showing a frog to Emma Claire. How cute is that??
Sanders--one of the two children brave enough to go down the slide! :)

Gibson stuffing his face with cake
EC doing the same thing
Our little soccer lover got a soccer goal and ball for his birthday--it was a hit!
celebration of life at school--next to his friend, Hayes
dressed up in his gift from Lauren and Andrew---you know he's been to bible school this summer when he called it "God's armor". :)

Grayson, you are such an amazing gift from God, and I can hardly remember what life was like before you were born. You have taught me the true meaning of unconditional love. You are incredibly smart, stubborn, funny, affectionate, and curious. I am so proud to be your mommy, and I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for you. I love you, sweet boy! :)
