Great news!

As many of you may know, Emma Claire's weight has been a concern of mine for a long time...I know it's nothing to be worried about, but I have to find things to stress about and this has been it for most of her life. I don't know why, but having a small baby has always bugged me.

However, we discovered on Friday that she has had a huge growth spurt and gained 2 lbs in the past 4 weeks! She's up to 19 lb 10 oz and in almost the 50th percentile. I don't know her length, but it's probably still close to the 25th percentile which results in lots and lots of fat and rolls, which I just LOVE! :)

No matter what her size may be, I know that she's happy, healthy, and very loved, so I'm going to STOP finding things to worry about!

P.S. The reason we went to the doctor and had her weighed was because our pediatrician wanted to do a lead test on both kiddos since we now live in an older home with lead possibly in the paint. We won't find out the results for another couple of weeks, but cross your fingers that it comes back normal. Thanks! :)

Margaret, That is great about EC. Truman is a butterball and I don't have to worry about his weight. He is 22 lbs 1.5 oz and 30.25 inches. What a whopper. Don't worry about the lead. We had Walker tested b/c we did lots of painting renovations to our house and that paint was really old. He was totally fine.

the lead test should be OK. Our home was built in 1938 and all three have emerged unscathed -- well, from the lead that is! I hope you see the results you want! (We're outta here in 2 days tho'... ACK!)

Does it make you feel any better to know that neither of the minis have ever been on the weight chart? Literally? Jack is 5 and weighs 35 lbs. Ryan is stinking 7 and rolls in at...42.

better than the alternative!

Have enjoyed reading your blog--we are alike. I've got a 6 month old and a 4 year old...my son is older, daughter is the younger one. Come check my blog sometime!

I saw your comment on clemsongirl's post the other day...I am an AXO, too. I graduated in '98. You must of pledged when I was a junior or senior...you look kinda familiar.... Happy to hear your baby is gaining! She is cute!

YEAH Emma Clarie - not to worry - when Annie came home at 9 months she weighed 14 pounds! She has since caught up - and I also live in an older house (think plaster walls) and we have no lead paint problems that I am aware of!
